The New Orleans Saints were ordered by an NFL arbitrator to pay a former assistant of late owner Tom Benson nearly $400 Authentic Gustav Nyquist Jersey ,000 for violations of federal labor law, according to Ramon Antonio Vargas of the New Orleans Advocate.
Arbitrator Harold Henderson ordered the Saints to pay Rodney Henry the money due to him for overtime Arik Armstead Jersey , contractual guarantees and legal fees following his dismissal from the team in 2015. Henry had served as Benson’s personal assistant over two stints spanning 25 years before being fired. He filed a lawsuit against the team in November 2015 accusing the Saints of not paying him overtime.
Henry had also alleged racial discrimination against Gayle Benson Kris Letang Jersey , but those claims were not given any compensation by Henderson.
The case was kicked to an arbitrator after initially being filed in federal court. The Saints can appeal the decision back to the courts.
The NFL assistant coach with the longest consecutive tenure with the same team finally is retiring.
The Tennessee Titans announced Friday that strength and conditioning coach Steve Watterson is retiring after 32 years with the franchise, and Tom Kanavy will take over after three seasons with the team.
Watterson joined the then-Houston Oilers in 1986 as strength and conditioning coordinator before becoming assistant coach in 1988. He moved with the franchise to Tennessee in 1997. He said in a statement it became came clear it was time to retire with the Titans starting their offseason program Monday.
Kanavy spent eight seasons as head of strength and conditioning for Minnesota and 11 years with Philadelphia as an assistant. He also worked at the University of Miami and Penn State.
