WORLD CLASS: Mesquite, TX 9/30/83 THE MODERN DAY CHAMPS
WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING
MESQUITE RODEO ARENA
MESQUITE, TEXAS 9/30/83 7 PM
REFEREE: DAVID MANNING
*Sam Houston defeats Tim Renesto, Jr. with a bulldog @ 6:49.
*Davey O’Hannon pins Johnny Wilhoit with a bridge suplex @ 7:38.
*David Schultz w/Andy Kaufman defeats Brian Adias after some sneakiness by Kaufman. Kaufman trips Adias on a criss-cross. Adias grabs him. Schultz knees him in the back and drops him with a piledriver @ 9:55.
*Kamala/Killer Kahn w/Waldo Von Erich defeat Sgt. Slaughter/Don Kernodle. Kernodle is still not fully recovered from earlier injuries but is by his mentor’s side in this one. Unfortunately, he is roughed up by K & K and is near out when he makes a late tag to Slaughter. Slaughter does well but being on his own, literally, fails him. A double splash on the Sarge from Kamala and Kahn after some profuse bleeding ends up giving Waldo’s charges the win @ 13:38.
Kernodle and Slaughter carry each other to the back. They look seriously hurt.

Gino over Barry is a career making victory for Hernandez. You really make him the headline player with a victory like that over a man many here see as an eventual World Championship contender.
Like both tag matches as they elevate the winner, setting up Kamala/Khan as serious challengers and setting up a strong face team for them to challenge in Kevin and Kerry. Really makes sense for World Class to have some gold on a Von Erich waist, especially with David doing his time as World Champion.
